The Ghosts of Babe Ruth

What is it with all those balls flying out of Yankee Stadium? What was considered an oddity at the beginnning of the season is quicky turning into a trend. Last season in old Yankee stadium there were a total of 161 home runs hit. This year as of this writing, there have been 85 home runs thus far in only 22 games. You can do the math but it extropolates to over 300 home runs at the current pace. This has been attributed to various phenomena including how air currents carry the ball further towards the outfields. Is it possible to build a stadium that is more conducive to balls carrying further? If it is it remains to be seen whether this is an advantage for the Yankees as their opponents seem to be enjoying the benefits of this venue as well. The Bronx Bombers are currently near the top of the league in homer production.
